The adventure begins the moment you board your Big Red Jeep and depart on an exciting jeep eco-tour of the San Andreas Fault. Travel to a private 840 acre preserve on the San Andreas Fault where you will learn about the desert's plants, animals, history, geology, and earthquakes. On your excursion you will visit a beautiful natural palm oasis where you will learn about the Cahuilla Indians and how they lived along the fault line. Then your jeep will wind its way through the incredible labyrinth of geological cuts and canyons of the San Andreas Fault Zone as you travel over a mile into the center of the fault to see spectacular box and slot canyons created by geologic uplift and carved by erosion. Based on your preference, you can also go on a short nature walk or hike, explore our replica Cahuilla Indian Village and learn about the lives and culture of the Cahuilla People, tour our Pioneer Homestead and learn about the early settlers in our valley, or pan for gold at our Old Mining Camp. Whether your interest is the desert's plants and animals, scenic vistas, geology and earthquakes, Native American Culture, or Pioneer History, this tour is for you!

The adventure begins the moment you board your Big Red Jeep and depart on a jeep eco-tour through the rugged back-country of the Joshua Tree National Park. You will travel rugged trails up spectacular canyons and through desert washes as you journey through two deserts and the transition zone between two ecosystems. Below 3,000 feet, the Colorado Desert encompasses the Eastern part of the Joshua Tree National Park and features natural gardens of creosote, ocotillo, and cholla cactus. The higher, moister, and cooler Mojave Desert is the special habitat of the Joshua tree. The rugged mountains of twisted rock and exposed granite monoliths testify to the tremendous forces that shaped and formed the desert landscape. Don’t forget your camera, as you will want to take pictures of the gigantic boulders, Joshua trees, yuccas, and other lush plant life that thrive in this area. This is a great tour to beat the heat in the warmer months as temperatures up in Joshua Tree National Park are typically 10-15 degrees cooler than in the low desert.
